About me

I am Professor of Social Policy at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Tampere University. My research interests include social care, care work, violence studies, welfare service system, social suffering, vulnerability, theories of embodiment, organizational practices, social theory, gendered agency, affect and feminist theory.

My recent publications focus on welfare services, encountering and intervening violence in social and health care institutions, the challenges of ideological, institutional and affective practices in violence intervention, and the possibilities of promoting non-violence and sustainable wellbeing.
